When I first decided to create a website copywriting course for photographers, I had to get over my imposter syndrome. And I’m saying that as a former teacher!
It took internal work for me to feel confident adding on the title of “educator” or “coach” to my role as a copywriter. Here’s a peek at how I felt then:
I’m a former teacher who battled burnout, comparison, and anxiety throughout my career. I resisted launching a course for SO long out of fear that I’d be right back in that place again.
But here’s what I discovered: life as a business owner and an educator doesn’t have to look like life as a teacher did.
I know now that I can experience the joys of teaching without all of the icky feelings. *cue the happy tears*
Since launching Words That Click a year ago, I’ve supported 10+ students as they’ve polished the copy on their photography websites. One of the things I love most about this course is that it’s entirely self-paced. The female photographers who’ve gone through my website copywriting course have been able to do it at their own speed!
They’ve been able to put their lives and their businesses first and fit in website copywriting lessons during nap time or the hours when their children are at school.
I’m all about building a business that fits around your life (not the other way around!), and so many of my students have reported back that the self-study nature of this course helped them to do just that.
Another perk since launching Words That Click last year is that I continue to receive thoughtful and kind reviews from my students.
Take, for example, this one from Flora, a newborn photographer who’s based in the Philadelphia area:
Flora initially came into my corner of the Internet through a free SEO Keywords workshop I was offering. She liked her experience inside that workshop so much that she opted to enroll in Words That Click, my website copywriting course for photographers! We connected over monthly Voxer support hours, and it was wonderful to watch Flora’s confidence in her website copy grow over time.
Here’s another review I received earlier this year from another Pennsylvania photographer, Myra, who’s based in Pittsburgh:
I initially connected with Myra inside The Round Table, a community for female photographers and creative business owners hosted by a client of mine, Sabrina Gebhardt. I loved my conversations with Myra and her work as a family photographer. When she enrolled in my website copywriting course, I was so excited to support her!
The last review I want to share today is from another friend I met inside The Round Table, Katie Lyke. She’s a family and brand photographer based in Austin, Texas, and she worked her tail off inside Words That Click! Here’s what she had to say:
When I read Katie’s words and learned that her clients felt like they already knew her after reading her website, I was thrilled!
My goal inside this website copywriting course is not to teach you to write like I do or to see the countless examples of photography websites I share inside the course and duplicate their tone or brand voice.
It’s to help you feel empowered to find your own voice AND to use it to speak to your clients’ hearts and minds on your website!
Ready for your own website copywriting transformation? You’ve got it, my photographer friend!
