this past weekend, we celebrated Q’s baptism at our church. we were delighted to have family and friends by our side as we dedicated Q’s life to God and promised to raise our sweet little baby in the teachings of the Lord!
here’s a few pictures of our youngest son’s special day:
don’t my boys clean up nicely?! :)
thanks so much to Jord’s younger sister Lacy for snapping these photos! our pastor, Travis, was wonderful with Q – he has two sons himself that have approximately the same age difference as our boys, so he was well versed in our kids’ antics.
speaking of antics…as Travis was baptizing Q, he was reciting the traditional words {“I baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit}, and L immediately giggled and shouted, “Quincy’s a father!” L’s statement made no sense, but we all burst into giggles, as did the rest of the congregation. oh, sweet Lionel!
after the baptism service, we celebrated with a reception at our home, complete with pulled-pork sandwiches, chips, salads, and a yummy cookie cake. the food was delicious, but the company was even better!
that afternoon, our sweet Q showed off a bit more of his lovable personality:
the photo below so captures little Q’s love for sucking on his fingers; his constant drool and love of chewing on his fingers can only mean that teeth are coming soon…
our smiling boy. oh, how i love that gummy smile!
oh, Quincy – you delight us so.
in all, it was a wonderful day spent in the company of family, friends and a loving God. we’re so blessed to have you, Quincy August; we thank God for you every day.
