…about our two boys’ shared room {to-do list update}.

hi all! things have been busy around here lately, with school starting up again for both L and i, and many a doctor’s appointment for baby no. 2. we have also made some progress on the boys’ shared bedroom; check out our {smaller!} to-do list:

1. take down the ceiling fan.

2. paint the ceiling {in Benjamin Moore’s Lacey Pearl}.

3. hang the warehouse light fixture.

4. install DIY custom shelving flanking the window in the room {two wooden shelves – stained grey – on each side of the window, hung with hefty, exposed black brackets}.

5. order two monogram pillows and a metal photo print, courtesy of Tiny Prints.

6. order the rug {pictured above on the left side of the inspiration board, from Urban Outfitters}, as well as a few knick-knacks for the boys’ shelves that i’ve been coveting on Etsy. :)

7. print and frame some custom artwork that i made for the boys’ room, as well as a piece of printable artwork that i purchased from Etsy {my Dad is helping out with this}.

8. pick up the repainted bed frame and the repainted rocking chairs from my parents’ house.

9. hang the curtain rod + curtains, hang the artwork, dress the beds – really, this is the time to decorate our hearts out!

i can’t wait to receive my items from Tiny Prints, and to officially start decorating the space! I have some touch-up paint to do on the walls {my darling hubby spackled for me, to give the room a fresh start} before any decorating can really happen, but i couldn’t be happier with how everything is coming together; as i collect more and more items for the room, i feel so excited for the space, and even more giddy about the fact that come this winter, TWO boys will share this space.

in other baby prep news, i expect baby’s bedding to arrive in late September from the Etsy seller who is crafting it for us, and in October, we will purchase shelving brackets, mattresses and fun sheets for L’s big boy bed. in the meantime, i can’t wait to wash the baby’s clothes {next weekend!} and start to ready a sweet baby boy haven in our master bedroom for our second little man. our DIY platform bed in the master bedroom is not quite completed yet, and we still have curtains to hem and other miscellaneous projects to complete, but with approximately 13 weeks to go before baby, everything that’s left on the list seems manageable at this point.

what’s on your to-do list this month? I decorated our home for Fall today – which involved hanging a autumnal wreath and tossing a few pumpkins into our decor upstairs – but nothing gets me excited for home projects like a change in season, so it felt great to show our home some Fall love today!
