Next up on the docket for our home reveal: the eat-in kitchen! Take a look:

Eating-Area-Kitchen

Eating-Area-2

Of course, this area has changed A LOT since we moved in, especially with the addition of our DIY farmhouse kitchen table! Jordan’s hard at work on writing up a post that explains the construction and the painting/coffee staining/polyurethaning processes of the table with lots of pictures, so look for that soon.

Our plans for this space include:

– paint (Gray Owl)

– paint the kitchen island (Palladian Blue? Wythe Blue?)

– DIY a kitchen table (use this tutorial: http://pinterest.com/pin/272749321155427460/)

– spray paint wooden kitchen chairs from Sara’s mama in fun colors (mint? coral? turquoise?)

– purchase two galvanized metal chairs (silver)

– paint a chalkboard wall in the eat-in area of the kitchen

– spray paint (mint? coral? white?) and hang empty frames on chalkboard wall (write notes, quotes inside); also add upside down drawer pulls to hold chalk (like this: http://pinterest.com/pin/272749321155436867/); also draw a family calendar on the chalkboard wall (like this: http://pinterest.com/pin/272749321155518354/)

– add curtains/blinds of some sort to sliding glass door for privacy? Frost the doors for privacy? (inspiration: http://pinterest.com/pin/272749321155581268/)

Stay tuned – up next: the bathrooms!
